Here's the place to introduce yourself. Some stuff we would like to know:
-Your talents -What you like about Fallout -What you would like to see in Fallout 3 (not necessarily Bethesda's version, and keep it brief)

My username here is jgwolfgram, but I also go by psychocobra. I've been trying to get people together for this project for the past few days, and hopefully this forum is the start of it all.
I'm 23 and I live in Fort Bragg, NC. I've been playing games since I was 10 years old, Fallout 1&2 have always been, and will continue to be my favorite games. I hope we can get this started, and I will do whatever it takes to accomplish this goal. If this means calling every single programmer that has been on either of the Fallout projects, then thats what I will do.

Hi I was invited to NMA from the Bethesda forums when I asked for the Van Buren Source Code.
I am 21 and currently go to school in Rochester, NY. I absolutely love the series and have been playing them since 97. I have been working on creating a set of movies that encompass the Fallout world which has caused me to do lots of reading into the backstory.
I will be the most help to this project in the storyline, dialog, and art department. However I would like to learn some 3D graphics creation through this so I would be interested in doing small renderings.

I was the one who started the thread over at nma. I felt like having the need to discuss how some Fallout sequel actually can look like, as Beths FINO:3 really can't be considered as a true sequel. That there are really people who are extremely serious with actually building a game was astonishing to me. Fallout simply is the greatest RPG ever created imo. Nothing to add I would like to see an approach which will make this a true sequel to Fallout without actually having a direct connection to Fallouts storyline. Since we decided to set it into Europe, this game by then can be considered as being a true sequel but also as an unique game (I hope this got clear). talents hmm... talented in being untalented? oO

Talented in being untalented XD
About our possible aproach, I don't think we should be so firm and say "we should not connect the story with Fallout" and "it will be in Europe." Let's leave everything open for debate since who knows what good ideas may come up. And also, everyone who places ideas and such, don't expect that every detail will be implemented according to your work. Once we get more people on this forum we can discuss stuff and see what we like best and what can be done best technically.
So let's not decide anything yet, we don't need to race BethSoft.
EDIT: Oh, and welcome =D

I am Huseyin Olgac, i'm 16 years old. I live in Ankara, capital of Turkey.
I know C++ (I'm studying for computing olimpiads, which requires good programming sense and lots of algorithms) and DirectX (Actually, i know Direct3D, DirectInput and DirectMusic. I'll try to learn DirectPlay when we need it). Fallout gives the freedom, that's why i love it. Dialogues, actions.. That world lets you Role Play your character, and that's what i want to see in Fallout 3. Good scenario and freedom.

Well - yo!
I'm ... well, basically I'm a salesman and a project leader, professionally. I'm also a writer, though. I cannot program a game, but I can most certainly come up with an exciting story.
Also, I know a bit about getting organized - something we need to do at some point if this is going to be anything but a study in futility.
Besides that, I'm 36, and I live in Denmark.

Hello there! I'm egalor, I've been invited to NMA after I posted in idea about uniting FO fans and creating our sequel, that would correspond with our view of FO3. I'm 27 years old guy, working as a lawyer, in Moscow, Russia. I have rather extensive gaming experience in general, as I've been playing PC since I was eight . Additionally, I've participated in the official playtest of Warhammer Fantasy Role Play (WFRP; a tabletop RPG), and currently I regularly master our games, write scenarios, and of course play myself. From time to time I participate in the scenario contests, organised by the publishers (www.blackindustries.com). My FO experience started in 1998, and since then I've been eagerly waiting for a sequel. Even long before FO (about 1992), I've enjoyed and won several times Wasteland, the FO predecessor game you are most likely aware of. So, I think I know a thing or two about what a good should be like (as most of us do, hopefully ) I could be helpful in these areas: - writing a good comprehensive plotline, subplots, quests, conceptual NPC, dialogues; - drawing world map, cities and other locations layout design (including the usage of any applicable programs, such as editors); - composing a few soundtracks; - managing people. Please note, I'm no coder, nor good artist, however, but I have a few offline friends who would gladly help me if need arises.

Wow 3 new members, welcome! We can definatly use all your help!
@ revanthedarth 16 and already programming, impressive! You remind me of me, only when I was that young I didnt know nearly as much.
@ acromos We can definatly use your help with organization, I dont think any of us have professionally done project managment, so we'd appreciate any help you can offer!
@ egalor Yes I remember you from NMA, I like your enthusiasm, and your organizational skills well also be beneficial to our cause.
Thank you all for joining, your support will ensure a successful creation of a game that we all want! It will still take time to assemble a team, so feel free to post ideas and hang out until then.

Is it possible to make a public list of members, and to keep it updated all the time? THe list should include:
their info, role in the project, current work and its status, contacts (not obligatory).
This should help us see the whole core group more easily and to assign tasks with bigger effectiveness, IMHO. Perhaps a locked sticky in this subforum would be useful.

Hi, ScaredHelmet here, I know K, Keono, in real life. I'm 20 years old, live in Holland, a failed student, but most of all, I consider myself a philosopher. I'm a big fan of western RPGs like Baldur's Gate, Planescape Torment, Arcanum, and of course, Fallout. My input in the project could be (but is not limited by) - Basic concept art - Creating an original (yet loyal to fallout) new wasteland (europe for instance means new threats, america in a different timeline also means new threats) - Creating original quests (no fetch quests ) - Creative input on how the atmosphere should be. - Mapping experience with the Fallout 2 map... maker. - A general support

For those of you who participated in the topic that spawned this collaboration, I was the one who was paranoid about Bethesda shutting us down if we tried to go anywhere near Fallout. So, here we are. Trying to make it ourselves. Although it's been a while, I'm good at doing pnp concept art, as long as it doesn't involve organic things. If Fallout 3 would be made the way I want it, it would have been out years ago, done by the BIS development team that worked on Van Buren. But, that didn't happen.

Hello there. My name is Keith Burgun and I've been an independent game developer for a decade or so. I specialize in game design and music composition, but I can also do OK in most fields, level design, sound design, concept art, pixel art, and a little 3D modeling. Check out my game development profile here: www.dinosaurlightning.com/gamedevIn speaking about Fallout and a future sequel, I am obviously very passionate and VERY concerned with where the series is going now that it's owned by Bethesda. In fact, I am concerned that the current professional development climate can not allow for RPGs to be created at all - I would not call Oblivion or WoW RPGs because they are not built around role-playing and using one's imagination. I can rant about this for hours, as I have on the Fallout 3 Boards. Anyway I'd be delighted to help you guys work on this project and I'm glad to see enthusiasm about it. Fallout 1 and 2 were some of the greatest games ever created and possibly the best RPGs hands-down.
