Well, I've finished reading through that script. It is indeed detailed one, and might really be used as the main background/story document for FO3, be it fan-made or official. Here's what I liked: 1. The script combines the best what's been in FO1 and FO2. It has all those famous locations from first two parts (The Glow, Boneyard, SanFran, New Reno, Arroyo, etc, more than 20 total) and contains comprehensive (and quite logical) review of their possible future. This could be used as the starting point (at least) for our background. Here's what I disliked: 1. While the general idea of two-way approach to the game ("Valourous" and "Villain's" campaigns), they seem a bit artificial and have no logical end for any of them. In this regard I liked definitely much more Keono's scenario. Why only two "black&white" ways to finish the game? Perhaps we should add some "shades of grey", Mr. Todd Howard used to be talking about. Maybe it should be possible to let the PC (player character) mix these bad/good campaigns to a certain degree, and get something uniquely third? Moreover, these campaigns should be written apart from the background material. 2. There are too little Vaults, while I think we all agree that Vaults are the unseparable part of Fallout feeling. Of course I understand that we tend to attribute some degree of progress to the re-born (undead?) shreds of civilization after almost 50 years since FO1, but we should cap it at certain level, otherwise the wastlelands get too much populated and communities within become regional state-like entities. And this is totally contrary to the Fallout spirit - where only a few shreds of former civilization remain. 3. While the script contains the necessary Wastelandish/Falloutish stuff like drugs, technology, wary isolated islands of civilization, it definitely lacks the existence of Artificial Intelligence, simply put - belligerent robots. I guess this is the thing we should take a closer look at. 4. This script limits us to the original Fallout area. To sum up. Despite the fact there are more "disliked" points than vice-versa, I liked the script very much, but I'm waiting for more to come. Including mine What's your view, folks?
