I thought I'd post a summary of what happened during our first official chat session meeting, for those of you that were not able to attend.
Our first meeting seemed to be a great success. Attendee's included Keono, notme, egalor, raventhedarth, Barracuda, and myself.
The meeting actually occurred in two different sessions. During the first one the only thing on our agenda was a recruitment strategy, which we seemed to have work out.
During the second session we talked with the project manager of FIFE, who gave us some tips of where to start, whats worked for him in the past, and what things to avoid. Thanks again Barracuda for your assistance!
So whats the result of these meetings you ask? Lets start with recruitment. For now we've decided to increase our numbers by word of mouth. We're mainly looking for programmers and artists right now - so if you know of anybody that may be interested, send them our way. If you're on Fallout fan site forums, and you see that somebody may express interest in helping us out, then by all means PM them. I don't think it would be appropriate yet for us to post something on any of the other forums asking people to join. We will work primarily by this method (word of mouth), until we get a more detailed vision of what we want - and yes, something is in production. After we've got that taken care of, some of the others and I will attempt to recruit some key leaders.
Web space is another issue. If anybody has free web space we can use, let me know. We need something that supports PHP and MYSQL, also if you have experience in these please PM me. Barracuda suggested that we set up a wiki - style website so we can better manage our files / ideas / goals. If not, I'll go out and buy some - for that I'd like suggestions as to what domain name we should register, please post them here.
We're also starting to create a design document for what we want. This will take a while, but when its finished it will be posted for you to see.
If you were at the meeting and I missed anything, go ahead and post a reply to this. Thanks again everybody for your support.
EDIT: I did forget something, we registered the channel we had the meeting in. I'll try to be there as much as I'm online, so dont hesitate to stop by and say hi. Here's the info if you didn't get it before:
